Career Services Staff Profiles
Angie Wojak, Director
Angie manages strategic planning and oversees creation of Career Services publications. She also guides the Career Services Advisory Council, a group of employers and Parsons faculty who provide feedback on best practices in recruiting and offer insight into various industries' employment needs. Angie received her B.F.A. in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts and earned an M.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking at the University of Missouri. She is also a certified art educator and has taught printmaking and drawing at Lincoln University and drawing, design, and art education courses at the University of Missouri. Angie was also a lecturer at the Museum of Modern Art where she developed presentations for elementary and secondary school tours. Angie recently published her first book, Spark Your Career in Fashion.
Rod Berg, Associate Director
Rod advises students and alumni in Communication Design, Design and Technology, Graphic Design, Interior Design (A.A.S. and B.F.A.) and Architecture, Illustration, Photography, and Product Design. In addition, Rod guides the office’s employer relations initiative, working extensively with high profile companies such as DreamWorks, Hasbro, and Reebok to arrange for their recruiting needs. These partnerships have led to sponsored projects with companies including Fossil, Movado, and Target. Rod received his B.A. in Communication Design from East London University and has worked as both a creative recruiter for Fortune 500 companies and as a graphic designer for clients including Walt Disney. Rod recently organized the largest internship fair in Parsons’ history - with over 600 students in attendance.
Angela Tsuei, Assistant Director
Angela advises students in fashion/business career paths. She works with A.A.S. Fashion Marketing students and through extensive collaboration with Design and Management works to strengthen career development programming and advising. After receiving her B.F.A. from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, Angela began her fashion retail career as an Assistant Buyer for Lord and Taylor in their Executive Training Program and Assistant Merchandiser for Ann Taylor. She then became a Merchandiser for Liz Claiborne overseeing handbag and small leather goods businesses. Her extensive knowledge of the business industry is very helpful to students/alumni seeking advice about the realities of career paths. Angela was recently a panelist at Harvard University for their Women in Business organization.
Erica Sewell, Assistant Director
Erica advises students and alumni in the A.A.S. Fashion Studies program and the B.F.A. and Masters of Fine Arts programs. The bulk of her career has been as a fashion designer working on the teams of Calvin Klein, Isaac Mizrahi, Armani Exchange, Ralph Lauren, and Jones New York, and as a design consultant for labels including Nike and Loyale. Erica is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has studied photography at Pratt Institute. She led a mural project in South Africa at the Mazisahke Center outside of Cape Town. Erica is currently pursuing her MA in Liberal Studies at The New School for Social Research, where she is exploring topics including The Sociology of Careers in the Arts for Minorities and The Life and Legacy of American Fashion Designer, Patrick Kelly. In addition Erica is currently a Program Manager for Marc Ecko’s Sweat Equity Enterprises foundation, directing teens in a design lab where products are produced for clients such as Nissan, Timex, and Radio Shack. At Parsons, Erica is leading efforts to provide greater resources and outreach to international students and employers and recently compiled a guide to employers in Korea.
Nicole Lenzen, Career Advisor
Nicole is the career advisor for Fashion B.F.A. and History of Decorative Arts & Design Masters students and alumni. Most recently, Nicole ran a custom bridal and eveningwear business in San Francisco. She handled all aspects of the business including designing, pattern making, performing client meetings and fittings, sewing, marketing, and public relations. Concurrently, Nicole was a fashion trend consultant, and prior to that, she worked in design, technical design, and product development in apparel and accessories - including work for a line of handbags sold at Target. Before returning to school to study pattern making and design, Nicole graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and worked for several leading technology companies in Silicon Valley. Nicole has lived in Europe and speaks French fluently. Since relocating to New York, Nicole has continued to pursue fashion freelance work, and actively participates in art and design culture.
