This Paris-based master class is led by Peter Turnley, a renowned photojournalist and author of Parisians.
Turnley covers the world major news stories; his work has been on the cover of Newsweek more than 40 times.
This course is for students with a serious interest in photography, but it is also directed at students with
a range of academic backgrounds including journalism, political science, sociology, history, and French
language and literature. Students are exposed to the traditions and masters of photography, in the manner
of the photography of Paris including Doisneau, Atget, and Strand and create a photo essay on a theme of
their choice. The course draws on the resources of Paris including the Foundation Henri Cartier-Bresson,
