PRE-ENROLLMENT PROGRAM

SUMMER PROGRAMS  NEW YORK  ILLUSTRATION

ILLUSTRATION

Illustration is the art of using images to communicate ideas. Illustrators express their opinions in political cartoons and editorial illustrations. They present data in graphics for financial reports, provide travel information in maps and signage, and create fantasies in comics, graphic novels, and children’s books. Illustration is also the backbone of animation, skateboard art, toys, and many Web designs and products. Students formulate ideas, develop their rendering skills, and use problem solving to convey their vision. Students are introduced to compelling work created by contemporary illustrators and develop basic skills in preparation for careers or further study in illustration.
