Scheduling An Interview

While not a requirement, we do suggest an interview for all applicants. It will help us to get to know you better. Before an interview is granted, you must have submitted an application and have a New School ID number which you will receive in your application acknowledgement letter which arrives 1 - 2 weeks after your application is submitted. It arrives approximately 2 weeks after your application is submitted. To schedule an interview, please submit a request with date and time to parsadm@newschool.edu. In the subject line, please write INTERVIEW and your New School ID number. In the body of the letter, write the approximate time you would like to have scheduled. However you, if you prefer, you may call us to set up a personal interview on campus. The number to call is 212-229-8989 (please be aware that requests for interviews may not be left on voice mail). Interviews for freshmen (non-transfer)  applying to Bachelors degree programs will conclude on Friday, January 30th. No interviews will be conducted during the months of March and April. Beginning Wednesday, April 1, interviews will be permitted for all applicants to AAS programs and for applicants applying as transfer students into the Bachelors degree programs.

In addition, we strongly encourage you to bring your portfolio and any additional work to the interview. If you would like to hand in the required Portfolio and additional exercises at the time of your interview, you may do so. Please be aware that it must be in the form of slides, CD, DVD, VHS or website form. Also, a Materials Cover Sheet (see below) must be included.
