Prospective students are welcome to visit Parsons The New School for Design. The Office of Admission provides the following services to help interested students get acquainted with the school.

Please note that Parsons is closed on Fridays during the summer (June–August).

Online Open House Chats

Representatives from the faculty, the Office of Admission, Financial Aid, Career Services, International Student Services, and Housing discuss common concerns with prospective students.

Tours

Tours must be scheduled in advance. Parsons does not allow self-guided tours.

Information Sessions

Admission counselors discuss program options and the application process. Information sessions take place Monday through Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Welcome Center on the ground floor of 72 Fifth Avenue. Please note that during the summer (June–August) Parsons is closed on Fridays.

Optional Interviews

Interviews are informal meetings with an admission representative and are not required. They offer the opportunity for a student to have their artwork critiqued and to discuss application processes. Please review the calendar for dates and times.
Meetings with admission representatives are open to all potential applicants for bachelors and associates programs.

Portfolio Preparation Workshops

Members of the Admission Committee offer recommendations for preparing a successful portfolio. Portfolio preparation workshops are held after the Friday 2:00 p.m. information session and on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. during the summer. Artwork is not reviewed at these sessions.

Prospective students to all BFA majors at Parsons (freshman and transfer entry) may have their portfolio reviewed by an admission counselor.
